i have just got my 360 and have a few questions about backing up my games and using the disc's. before i get flamed i have used the search function to try and answer my questions most i did answer but here are the left overs.
1. the standard nosiey fan inside the 360 is it running on a 5 volt or 12 volt source.
2. if i take a back up cd to a freinds who does not have a "CHIP" inside will it work on his xbox? if yes does this mean only the xbox making the back ups need to have a chip inside?
3. can i use xbox live gold using back up cd's to run the game from i know on the gen xbox you could not?
4. with the gen xbox it made a huge difference what brand dvd's were used to back my games up as to wether the back up would read them or not?
5. is the an alternative to using the offical wireless LAN modual e.g a non USB that is half the price?
this will be a HUGE help once these are answered many thanks inadvance for your answers. (IMG:

1. The Xbox 360 fan is on a variable voltage source (PWM) that can vary anywhere from 0 to 12V (the fans usually run at about 7V)
2. Backups only run on a modded Xbox 360.
3. Although it is physically possible to play a backup on Xbox live, it is still unknown whether or not this will result in a ban.
4. I'm not the expert on which brands of media work best and everything, but I know Verbatim DVD's are good. Check the DVD backup forum.
5. You can hook the 360 to a standalone wireless access point that has an ethernet jack. Depending on the brand, it may need some initial setup (by plugging it into a PC), but some are made specifically for game consoles.
