Xbox360 Hangs, No Error Messages.

Hey!

Yesterday I discovered an odd problem with my xbox, the night before this happened I played Gears of war for hours straight in coop with a friend of mine, everything worked like a charm, we played through the entire game and I went to sleep..

The day after that, when I turn my console on, and trying to play a game (any game), the xbox suddenly hangs, after about 3 minutese of gameplay it hangs, but now after some time, the xbox keeps hanging even inside the Xbox Dashboard and all random..

I don't get any error messages at all, no red lights, nothing.. The screen just hangs and the sound goes "eeeek" for ½ a second.

I have opened the xbox entirely, I tore it down into pieces and trying to see if there was anything that burnt on the motherboard, but everything seems intact.

Any suggestions?

I think its overheating, mine does the same and im returning it to MS when i get the time.

I've tried applying a fan that runs at about 10k rpm, external unit, directly applied on the gpu and cpu, didnt exacly work out any better :/

If it's overheated and damaged some of the chips then it'd be too late to save it, if you have a warranty then send it back to MS.

I've got the same problem, only got worse after flashing.
I'm getting a new one asap.

Yeah, it's unfortunately too late for mission "rescue xbox360".

I decided to take the xbox into complete pieces this time, removing the heatsinks from cpu and gpu, then when looking closely with a microscope I found a couple of components that were "missing", due to excessive heat these have melted and dropped away, probably as I opened it.

I guess my 360 days are over.
