i live in the uk usually a region 2 area heres my problem i wanna buy the xbox hd dvd drive from america ...will it work on my pal machine and run region1 hd dvds are hd dvds even region coded, i dont wanna have a region 2 hd dvd player as region 2 is basically well crap

my u.s hd dvd and xbox both play everything except region 2... yes it plays all pal formats except for region 2.. but i do not know if the hd dvd is region locked or if it is specific to the xbox 360... you should get a region 1 dvd and see if it plays in your xbox 360... if it does then the uk hd dvd player will play region 1.. and hd dvd movies are not region locked
