Error 0110/memory Chip Help
« on: December 18, 2006, 07:46:00 PM »

i have a 360 throwing an 0110 error code

sometimes the console boots fine..sometimes i get the 3 red lights

i discovered that if i put pressure on the front 2 memory chips the console boots no problem

im assuming theres a loose solder joint somewhere on one of those 2 chips...?

what would be the best way to go about fixing it?

heat gun?

ok i had the same thing. ur GPU its fine so far so DONT HEAT IT !!! cuz it will just mess it up a bit. cover everythin with aluminum foil cuttin a hole for those 2 chips. heat them up a little bit and ull be fine, dont heat up the gpu. i had the same thing and i heated up everything week later i had 0102 instead of 0110 so soldering under my gpu was ***cked. then it got more complicated and after few fixes i ended up with not working mobo with error 0022 so heat up only ur chips, and then try to maybe put a heat sink on those memories. plus some arctic silver paste.

i pretty much assumed my gpu was fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

i took the heatsinks off the cpu and gpu and put arctic silver on them

so cover everything w/ foil w/ 2 holes for the chips..ok...what do i heat them w/?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

i accidently bumped the cpu heatsink after heating it for a little while  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

if i bricked it its no big deal..it was already kind of bricked and i just bought it to play w/ anyways

if its bricked i might buy another and try it again..i want to fix atleast 1  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

my roommates played the 360 a while last night...i played it for a little over an hour straight w/o issue before they took over

said it "checkerboarded" twice last night but they could turn it off and back on and it was fine...before when it would checkerboard it would cause 3 red lights on the next boot

it turned on fine this morning as well

think some better fans would help?

the mobo is just sitting in the cage w/o the external case around it...think that has anything to do w/ it?

use some coolin mods like 12v fan mode plus use an aluminum foil on gpu heat sink.
