Man M$ is gonna have to address this shit soon.  Its just starting to pile up way too much.
-Updates fragging boxes
-Wireless headsets not syncing
-boxes overheating
-90 day warrenty (no wonder)
-charging people 140$ for boxes that crashed due to updates?!?!
When is it going to end?  I guess it will take several class action lawsuits.

Yes, the box has issues... but us europeans that really don't matter. Well of course it's all the
hassle with warranty and the waiting... you should blame your petty consumer laws for the 90day warranty.
In EU economic area the warranty for any product sold by a customer is 6 Months, correct me if I'm wrong. Now any self respecting company offcourse provides at least 12month warranty but in microsoft case I don't know why (bit too confident on the quality?) a full 24month warranty.

I'm lucky to say that I bought my first xbox 360 at launch in Finland was it 9th of december 2005... that worked fine but I sold it after 6months cause it made noise and bought another this one manufactured 2months later than the first one I had... no problems with that one either... perhaps I'm one lucky son of *piip* or what...

I must say that microsoft has gotten away from the heating (bad solder) issues like nobody's business... I don't know how...from what I've read a lot more issues than spoken in the media...

I have the same issue with mine, it will only sync if i turn the headset on first but after 10 mins or so it will loss connection and wont re connect to port 1. I think we should all send major an email uk, usa and the rest of the world who has issues and if enough of us shout maybe they will jump but im not holding my breath.

I have the exact same problem as this guy.

I have the launch controller & it & the headset don't like each other!! but with a newer one it works fine.

The headset just wont sync to the same quadrant as the controller, it will jump from quadrant 1 to quadrant 2 every time the controller is turned on & vice versa.

I called M$'s call centre & they said "go buy another controller"!!

I had a little debate with them £35/$65 for a new controller no way, I insisted they replace my controller for a new one & now I'm waiting on their answer...

Wish me luck & I'll let you know how I get on...

UPDATE

after speaking with microsoft's very helpfull support staff (yeah right), I was told that i have a faulty controller even though it works fine..... So i went down this road:

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 traders must sell goods that are as described and of satisfactory quality.

If consumers discover that products do not meet these requirements they can reject them and ask for their money back providing they do so quickly. Alternatively, they can request a repair or replacement or claim compensation.

Funnerly they told me thay would get back to me so watch this space.

I came up with my own solution that is foolproof. I use the wired headset that came with my 360.

the headset that come with the 360 is shit, i wired up my last original 360 headset to the 360 comunicator and i loved it till i dropped the controller then the headset yanked off my head and i ended up braking my last origianl headset, i bought the comunicator adaptor that lets you use any headset you want but have no more original xbox headsets to use with it since i hard wired my last one

time to see if EB has the original headsets in stock i guess

but i havent had any issues with my wireless headset yet so im happy

if you sync the headset first, (it doesn't need a controller to work, you can sync your mic and use a universal remote to select a chat through the dash) it will take channel 1, then sync the controller it will also take channel one and everything works just fine, its in the instructions that came with the the mic
You need to watch that video again. Pay closer attention this time.

The headset works with my launch controller. But now I am waiting on a new xbox because mine died, fuck 3 flashing red lights of doom. At first they were going to charge me for shipping, but then I said "fuck no, I got this thing at launch, this is how you treat someone who stood outside for 14 hours for your console" and the guy was like "I am sorry sir, we haven't had a defective launch unit in a while, we had problems with many of them, we will send you a prepaid box immediately". So now I should have my New 06 unit by Monday.
