Xbox360 And My Hdd From My Pc
« on: December 05, 2006, 06:20:00 AM »

Hello,

I'm new here, and I have some questions.
(i will only post one here, since the others are for other categories..)

I have my Xbox360 now for 3 days, and it's really a SUPER computer!!!

Now, here's my Problem: I wanted to play Burnout 3, but when I inserted the Disc, it says: "This is an original xbox 360 game, you need a harddrive to play this game"
And guess what: I have no harddrive!

Now, I was wondering: is there any possibility to let my 360 use the harddrive of my pc?
I'm thinking of connecting the 360 to my home network, so that's how I came to this thougt.

This would be great, cause i'm really dying to see how this game looks for real on my new 360...

For your information, it's a brand new xbox 360, so it is not chipped, modified or anything else.
just as standard as you can get.

I hope I made it a little understandable for you, because i'm from Holland.
And English is not my daily language.. :-)

Thanks in advance!

GreetZ!

Chris.

Without some modification there is probably now way to use your PC's drive, especially through the network. Well, I'll put it this way, I haven't heard of anything yet though I am sure someone is thinking about it. Now, let me guess, you went and bought a core system and not the premium to save a hundred dollars? Well, unfortunately the hard drive (at least here in the USA) runs about a hundred dollars so the chrome dvd bezel, wireless controller, HD A/V cable and whatever else they include in premium and not core is free. That's why when I got mine I went with the premium because I knew I was going to end up buying all of those accessories anyhow. Also, since I just tried this, you can't use a memory card as your hard drive either. Don't know why, since it would help out those core users but I guess Microsoft wants you to invest in the hard drive for Live.

One more thing. Unless I am mistaken, Burnout 3 from the origianl Xbox isn't going to change a whole lot graphics-wise. I think they went and updated the graphics for the 360 and rereleased a 360 version. Someone can confirm this for me. I know one of the Launch titles was like that and I am pretty sure it was Burnout.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

@Draeconix:

I didn't bought a Core system but a Viva Penata pack.
(Xbox360, with one controller, 64MB Memory card, and the game Viva Penata with all the fancy colours  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) )

I knew about the Premium pack, that comes with the hard drive standard, but I didnt knew that the hard drive is required for some games!

I thought, I need a Xbox360, a memory card, and offcourse a game, and of we go!

You're right, if I knew this before I had bought a Premium Pack.

I guess Mr. Gates is happy with people like me, people who buy nice actionpacks without doing some research before....hahahaha
but I can life with it, it was this or a Nintendo Wii, and now that I see the grahics of the xbox360, i'm in love.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
