with a bit of room around the system (and the psu brick), you will have no problems

I have a set up in which the 360 and brick of power are resting on separate steel wire shelves. Air can travel around and  under them freely, and I still had one overheat according to MS. When my current system finally quits for good, I'm keeping my next in a refrigerator. I've seen deviceslike this on the web somewhere. Kill two birds with one stone: heat, noisy.

add another stone to kill with that method: your next 360.

refrigerators condensate, and that will kill your new 360 in about 10 seconds.

just a question: is the 360 standing up or laying down? try it in the other position and see what happens. i would also suggest temporarily moving the xbox 360 to another location (with huge amounts of air around it)

thanks for the info guys..thought theres more to leaving it on the open..i already have the electric fan blowing steady on the x360..a little annoying for the noise..

i think that is a bad thing to do... i did this before with my Sky Digibox as it was heating up etc.. after few months it stopped working completly. i opened it to find sooo much dust  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Not true. PURE water doesn't conduct electricity. The impurities in water make it conductive to electricity (learned this myself not to long ago).  As long as it's PURE water (condensation), you're safe but even the slightest impurity in the water will make it conductive.

yes you are 100% correct, PURE water is not conductive. But i highly doubt that the condensation will be 100% pure water. We all know how polluted our environment is

ANY water inside the 360 will kill it in a short amount of time. Water from Condensation from the heat it produces will rust and blow the caps inside a month (PERIOD). So good luck with that. Even the Winechiller with Peltier cooling system. (If you read the thread it is REMOVED.)

Your best bet is (VOID the warranty) Lap the GPU and CPU heatsink, replace with Artic Silver 5 and remove the shielding behind the fans and the bottom of the unit. Do the 12v fan mod and be good to go.
If you want to spend the money and not THINK then by the KOOLANCE watercooled kit and be done with it.

with all that done, there is no reason for it to overheat at all.

risky, and i don't think it would be worth it considering we haven't established if the cpu/gpu is damaged
