Called M$ About 3 Lights
« on: November 27, 2006, 09:58:00 PM »

i just called m$ about my console having the 3 red lights and the steps to try to fix it didnt work.  gave them the serial number and they asked when i bought it and i said i couldnt remember jan of feb i said.

they said i have to ship it to their address and they would pay to fix it and send it back, i just pay for the shipping there.

I have opened the console and i have flashed the dvd drive.  should i just send it in as is and see if they say anything?

or do they just test the console to see what code its throwing and fix it without messing with my dvd drive?

anyone know what all they look at?

going to send it in this week i guess. and see what happens.

one of my friends has the 0100 error and was suppose to get a box sent out and never did, called back and said they would send another one and it still never came.  been like 2 months already, his is untouched

and some people say that m$ charges 130 to fix this problem, i dotn understand what makes some people have to pay and others not

OMG I can't help but reply to this stupid question. First of all, you are not getting any service free if you removed the silver microsoft seal on you Xbox 360 you will get the system back with a letter stating you warrenty is voided. Second, you dont send microsoft a modded flashed box are you out of your fricken mind? you need to wise up dude, hacking breaks alot of rules and can be criminal so sending them your flashed box with your name address and basicaly everything about you is like robbing a bank and leaving your wallet behind. I really think the Gerbel in your head fell of the wheel. I am sure Microsoft is aware of all the code and mods out there, but lets not pervoke them to start policing. Your Box is junk and the best you could do is look for someone third party to repair it, check Ebay there is some people repairing for $60.00 and if it isnt fixable they refund 100% a bit chancy but not as dumb as sending Microsoft you modded xbox. GOD help us if this is the future generation.
