360 Dvd Drive Won't Eject Manually? Reward!
« on: November 26, 2006, 08:52:00 PM »

Just switched out my case, didn't break anything inside, but the eject button won't work.  It is stripped right down now and I've tried pressing the button that is on the actual mobo and it is unresponsive.

It ejects using the media remote fine.  It looks like there is two copper "jumpers" on top of the eject switch on the mobo...do they need to be bridged by something metal?

it's weird, i have swapped cases before and have had no problem.  please help?  I can give a black XCM case to someone who solves this, shipped at their expense!

havent tried ejecting from the dash yet, but media remote works even with the case fully on

the problem seems to be with the eject toggle right beside the IR port on the mobo  I THINK

you can eject an empty tray from the dash, and I can do that fine, but the physical eject button pushes in another button that is a switch connected directly to the mobo, and it just stopped working, with the power on or off.

Go down the chain testing things. Start by shorting the wires/traces that the switch would be connecting, and see if it opens up.

It will turn on and open if I touch the copper pin that is on the top of the eject switch on the mobo.  same kind of switch as the sync button.  please help, I could take some pics or whatever.
