Confused About Motherboard Chipsets

I know this question is written in an unappropriate section, but can somebody tell me if a southbridge chip is relevant in hacking 360's drive's firmware?

From what I've read, they say that VIA 8237 chipset work well on hacking the firmware.
I have a motherboard with the chipset of VIA K8T890, and southbridge of VIA 8237.
So is my motherboard compatible for hacking?
