Rubberband Trick

Hi

I have an hitachi that was reading all backups fine, now has dirty disc alot, or unplayable or "put this in a 360. Does the rubberband trick apply to hitachi drives and what width should the rubberband occupy on the shaft thingy. Any help or links appreciated.

Hi Mate,

I`m no expert but i had to do the rubber band trick on my samsung,

I was`nt gettin dirty disc errors though only not recognising the disc and gettin the open tray error,

It`s definatley worth a try what harm could it do.

On mine i used a rubber band around 5mm in width BUT this stopped original xbox1 games runnin i could probably trim it to 4mm to try and get xbox1 games runnin but i cant be arsed

Could i have some more info on this rubber band trick? , tried the search button , but came up empty handed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Since M$ Helpdesk i sending me my 4th xbox360 because of those plenty disc read errors!
