hmm Someone should make a mod where it does stand vertical and make it look like a mini 360 lol.

Look, I'm not a big fan of these next-gen dvd drives in the first place, but who cares how it looks? Seriously. You can get HD-DVD functionality added to your Xbox360 for $200. I am assuming that is cheaper than buying a standalone settop unit, right? So there is no negative side to MS$ offering this to people who want it...

EDIT: I think it's hilarious that the PS3 looks like a clumsy block of plastic next to the 360. Remember all the PS2 fanboy's giving us $hit about the Xbox 1? Now it's time for payback ohmy.gif)

so now all that separates the top 360 and the top ps3 (@the $600 price point) is 40 gigs and software. i wonder which one will come out on top. it will be very interesting. i sure hope the price of a launch game starts coming down but i doubt it.

Now my question is what happens if you plug it into your PC?

Once I get mine.  I will test that.

I believe its to run both the HD player and the wireless adapter off of the back USB port, NOT to stream content from the HD unit TO the 360 - if thats what you meant - not really sure what you meant.....   blink.gif

Anyways, my 2 cents  biggrin.gif

Yea, I preordered this as soon as they announced it would support component. HDMI, isnt that big of a deal to me since i was an early adopter of hdtv and my tv doesnt even have a HDMI input (kinda sucks, but o well) the next thing that sucks for me is that i'm living in italy and they currently dont have any hdtv programming so i have this nice tv and have only been able to view sd movies/tv.... until now. it's gonna take about a week and a half for mine to get here.

how long till some one makes a better mod/case, so it actually looks like a slim 360 and sits with it nice.
I cannot be that difficult for the peeps that made the other 360 cases.

As it it.. it looks like shite. .how did it get past the astectics people..

I'm not getting one... yet

I find it ugly to have this "appendice" standing by my 360...

I'll wait 'till someone have an "estetic" solution to propose...

Besides, I'm not that much into HD-DVD

I actually quite like the design. Seriously it's better than having one huge fat dedicated player. At least you can hide this away easily.

It is big but so is anything with nex-gen, I'm sure a slim version will be made as well in the future. I will only be getting one when there is a clear winner of the nexgen format. I'm not investing in something that could turn out to be a door stop in 3-5 years time.

If its connected via USB then you don't have to worry about it being next to your 360 and looking shite. Just put it where you can't see it if you're that bothered about how it looks. I don't think it's that bad looking, and for the price its insanely cheap for HD movies.

I probably won't get one until either its internalised out of the box or HD DVDs really start to take off over here. No way is Blue Ray beating this, Sony aren't the superpower they once were.
