Have you tried all of the USB ports and tried different cables?

thats because they dont show up in the storage list...

choose the type of media you want to access: music, pictures, or video (if you have the fall update)

at the screen where you can choose Music Player, Hard drive, Console, Computer, Digital Camera, Current Disc, Portable Device.  (some choices availble only in certian media types)

Choose Portable Device.

now you can listen to music, view pics, or watch .wmv 's from your external harddrive or whatever.

only Fat based filesystems (excluding Fatx)  like Fat16, Fat32...  not sure about  12 - but why would you have that arachic filesystem on an external drive?

I wish they could read NTFS!  I mean NTFS has been out for how many years?  SINCE JULY 1993!!!!!!
