Possible Dead Dvd Drive?
« on: October 30, 2006, 08:41:00 PM »

i flashed the firmware on the dvd drive, plugged it back in, and now get 1 flashing red light, and error 64 which is a dvd drive error.

the drive doesn't spin, and when i hooked it back into my pc, the pc recognizes it, but i can't get it to eject.

the drive isn't making sound that i can tell of.

does this mean the drive is dead and i'm screwed, or is something else wrong?

Check and make sure the sata cable behind your dvd drive is pluged snugly.  Mine was lose and it had the same problem and scared the shit out of me.

thanks for the info, i checked and double checked the sata cable, and it's in there good.

i bought the 360 in january, but i think i've figured out a way to still be able to return it.

so i'm gonna try that, b/c i know if i sent it off to get repaired it would be out of warranty.

thanks for the help though.
