Power Brick Light Stays Orange?
« on: October 21, 2006, 12:41:00 PM »

Hi,

Has anyone else had their power supply brick stay orange even after starting up their XBOX 360? I got the 3 ring of red lights and my power supply brick now stays orange. I tried a friends power supply and my 360 powers right up and works great.

The last thing I did was update the original XBOX emulation, played a game for about an hour and then about 5 days after that, I powered it on and got the red lights and problem with power supply.

I haven't found anyone else having just the orange light stay on. I've read a lot about people getting the red light on the power brick.

I called XBOX support and they want me to send it in to get it replaced. Just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem. Thanks.

Had the same exact problem. I'm not sure why they want you to ship though. I had one shipped to me and then shipped the defective one back. The fact that I told them I had used another one successfully led them to suspend troubleshooting and just ship me out the replacement.

Good Luck

Quite simply...because of fraud.
Some less than intelligent people (including some here) were claiming things were defective when they weren't, or that the PS "just broke" when they did something stupid.  Now M$ wants to make sure the replacement is legit before the authorize it.

No, he is saying ms wants the defective ones because ANYONE could call in and say their PSU is dead, when it is not in fact.
