« on: October 21, 2006, 11:00:00 AM »

As far as i am aware, you shouly only have to do it once, but since yur xbox is probably overheating repeatedly you have having to continually do it...so maybe buy a betetr cooling system?

My rear fans are in 9v. The side fan 8v.

Look picture in my thread here here. I dont think thah my 360 is overheating!

Or maybe a water cooling system will be better ?

ThankS

From reading around on here quite a lot of the 0102 error, I can see that it's not overheating that is causing this but infact dodgy solder points on the components. The heatgun heats up the solder and helps spread it around the component to 're-attach' them.

I think the reason that you are having to do it so many times is that you haven't got the heat up as high as you could do. Though I don't know what heat you have it on. I haven't done it myself because somehow my 360 is still going strong after 7 months  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  But I did see someone ask how hot to have the gun when they do it because they kept having to repeat it like you.

Try and find out from someone how hot you can have it without it damaging anything.

Fact is , It is not a cure (Did you really think it would be? I mean a Heatgun and loads of SMD components). On occasions it provides a Temporary fix only. Can last hours or days/weeks but the problem will return
