Installing A Replacement Laser For The Samsung Dvd-rom
« on: October 16, 2006, 12:10:00 PM »

Anyone know where I could get some instructions on how to install the HD67 Laser? I recently bought a replacement off eBay because my Samsung DVD-Rom has trouble reading some games/movies/music (however, it plays when the CD/DVD is brand new without ANY scratches).

I am hoping that the laser I bought will fix this problem. However, I don't want to install this laser with a blind fold on (figure of speech). =/

If anyone could shed some light, it would be most appreciated.

depends how crafty you are... most drives im assuming have a similar setup with a couple small screws and whatnot...

you try looking at it yourself and attempting to rermove the laser from your bad drive? just follow the steps backwards and youd be set!

Thanks for the insight. I think there is a solder point that must be removed on the laser. Looks like I'll need a desoldering braid =/
