Error 0002 - Psu
« on: October 12, 2006, 08:52:00 AM »

Story:  So a friend brought me his 360 to flash his drive, all the flashing goes great but I get the hardware failure/0002 error.  My PSU will not turn green (stays in stanby).  Also the power to the unit will not stay on long enough for me to test any points with my volt meter.

So I found GotMaxx's post on a possible remedy.

The two MOSFETs circled in blue must be replaced.

The part number is NTD60N02RG:

Anyone else fix this or know where else to find these MOSFETs?  I don't really want to wait for a few weeks.

Eventhought I doubt anything with my flash caused the problem, I felt bad and let him borrow my box.   sad.gif

well I shot him a PM, but in my rush to try to get this fixed ASAP I went ahead and got a "sample" from that site.  Just had to pay a bunch on shipping.  Hope they show up fast.

So anyone have any tips on removal with a plain-jane soldering iron?  What should I try if this doesn't work?

Any tips to clean the MB so I will not just get another short once I replace them?

Good to hear you got your friend's 360 working again. Lol I always find if you need a part and cant find it anywhere except ofr wholesalers, just get a sample pack of them lol and some sites even give you free samples, you just have to pay for shipping.

So I tested this box multiple times during the re-assembly.  Everything was working great.  Played an original Xbox game wonderfully.  Let it run for about 20 minutes after fully assembled and everything was great.  Unplugged it, put it in my car, took it to my friend, he took it home and now he said none of the ROL leds are working and that his wireless controller will not connect.  Sucks ass.  Everything elese works fine.

Time for some more trial and error, I guess I'll see if my ROL board works on his.

Update, I just ran out of all my spare mosfets.  Also that 360 is still working fine to this day after the replacement.

Hi, I wanted to know if someone have some spare mosfet to sell for me (I don't own a credit card so I can't order at onsemi, but I got paypal). Or, if you know somewhere I could get those mosfet, I would be really pleased.

Thanks!

yesterday i got this 0002 error on my 360... d'oh...
can you confirm that the raplacement of the two MOSFETs is the only one and resolutive solution?

Hi,

Is it possible that the original MOSFET's just need re-soldered maybe rather than replaced ?

Where did you find out that these two MOSFET failing will produce a 0002 error ?

Nice another hint that 0002 is a CPU related issue
