Power Supply Warranty Question?
« on: October 02, 2006, 11:07:00 PM »

My power supply has gotten increasingly more noisy, to the point where i can't even play games from the dashboard without it becoming too distracting. I know it's not the DVD drive making the noise as it makes it with or without a disc in the drive.

Will xbox replace the power supply under warranty even though it's not throwing any error codes or should i persue other avenues?

There is a fan in the psu that is most likely the cause of the noise

They should replace it under warranty.. Call 1-800-4myxbox and give it a shot

Wow, they're replacing it under warranty, no trouble at all (expcept for having to explain to her htat it still actually works, but sounds like a jet engine, she didn't quite understand that), but regardless, new one is on the way! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Changing theme back to the first posting in this forum, about 3 red lights of death & 0102 error. After 9 months of flawless gaming, my Xbox suddenly froze. When every I tried to load a game it crashed. Arrrgh. I tried various things, even opening the case (heart in mouth) and replacing the paste with Artic Silver for the CPU & GPU. No luck. Finding this thread I looked at the YOUTUBE video and through: 'I have a head gun. why not?' Xbox was useless anyway. I followed the instructions and ... hey presto problem solved. Cool (or should I say 'hot'. Still, thanks for this posting and letting my X box live again. The wife was not willing to let me buy another one... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
