Controllers Will Not Work
« on: October 03, 2006, 01:14:00 AM »

Weird problem here. I've searched all over and can't seem to find anyone with the same problem as my friend here.

His 360 will not pick up the controllers.... will not. tried everything. Plug and play kit, other controllers, other systems. It's just his system. The controller, plug'ed with the plug and play will turn the system on, but won't connect the controller....

His system has been flashed, so m$ repair is probably not an option. Any help is much appreciated.

Did he press that little RF button on the controller and on the console so it will find them?  Maybe it could be that simple, also maybe he needs a new RF board?

After you power on, it still will not connect? Does a lamer wired controller  connect?

You probably tried this , but:

Make sure you are holding down the connect button on the controller and not just pressing it. It should spin in circles like the 360.

Sorry bro that sucks...I hate stuff that doent function out of the box...

well if you tried all that then maybe his RF board is stuffed. He can probably pick one up pretty cheap from the BST here.

Is it a recent problem??

If you hold connect on the 360 and the controller they will both spin in a clockwise circular motion. Make sure they both spin and disconnect the play and charge.
Turn system on manually.  Turn controller on , press sync on 360 till it spins clockwise rol and do the same on the controller if they both dont spin your not doing it right.  if they don't sync after spinning then I agree about the rf board.

I assume you're still in the stock case Also syncing with the controller right next to the console.

Yep yep. I have done all the obvious as you guys have stated, except a wired controller.

Thanks for all your replys though! Guess it's the RF board.

Stock case, holding the connect buttons on all controllers. Tried the front/back USB with plug and plug kits and everything!!! This console is a launch console. Hmmmmmmmmmmm........... now whos got a RF board?

i had a similar problem... only it would happen with the memory card inserted.  so what i did was unplug everything.  power suppply from the wall and 360. etc then plugged everything back in and it works perfect now.
