Help Needed With Xsata
« on: October 02, 2006, 05:54:00 PM »

Hey i just got my xsata i installed the software cd which is said to include the drivers for the xsata and xplorer 360 but when i connect the xsata to my pc it says "USB DEVICE Not Recognized" it also says that there are "no drivers installed for this device". When i try to open the drive with Xplorer360 it says "Can Not Find a FATX drive to open" i have checked all my connections and i have yet to figure out what i did wrong. Can somebody please help me? the windows errors are ok as there are no drivers for it.

i would suggust getting the newest version of xplorer 360, and making sure that your connections are good.

I double checked my connections, they all look ok. I downloaded the newest version of xplorer 360, but i still get the same errors. When i start the console my pc still says it is not recognized and when i try to open the drive with the newer version of xplorer 360 it still says "could not find a FATX drive to open". I found a page where they show xsata installation instructions and it says that once i install the cd the ST920217 AS USB Device shows up in your device manager, but it doesnt show for me. Maybe thats what the prob is. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here is the site that i was talking about: http://kamalot.blogspot.com/2006/06/setting-up-xsata.html

mine shows up as "ST312002 3A USB Device"  thats just the model of the 360's HDD.

if no extra harddrive is showing up there at all, then i'd replace the xsata with a new one.

I've never had any problems with mine.
