No Power To Fans?
« on: September 29, 2006, 04:56:00 PM »

Hey i was removing the led fans from my case today and somehow the + and - wire from the fan touched.....i heard a pop noise and spelled something that wasnt normal like it was burnt. Now when i plug something into the fan socket nothing is getting power back there. Is there anything i can do about this...to get power back. Im not sure how to go about fixing this...any suggestions?

so this is the 4th 360 you killed? you need to tap into power in another spot and hope your 360 works.. buy a volt meter and test the fan connection to make sure it has no power

No actually this is the same 360. I could just run the fans to the 12V under the psu but i will be hooking up my leds and cpu fan to that same spot as well. Would it be alright to just wire everything (3 things) to the psu? Since the fans have 4 wires can i solder them all together and then solder that one bundle to a 12V on the psu or would that create a problem? I dont have a volt meter to test with anyways so im not sure what i should do.
