Changing Dvd-rom Brands?

Is it possible to go from a TS drive to the Hitachi? I know you have to inject the key when you go from drive to drive, but I haven't been able to find anything on swaping between the two brands if possible. I know that the TS drive is the better of the two, but I can get the Hitachi alot cheaper and I'm always looking to save cash (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Sorry if this has already been answered, I just couldn't find it.
