I can take the top off and when I put a DVD or game in the drive it says reading spins about half a turn then says open tray ! any ideas?

same thing here it only plays dvds and cds soo i bought a new laser and we will see what happens

Mine doesn't even play original games and it is not flashed !

BUMP!

Any ideas from anyone? Is it my laser the dvd side of it not working? I know there is a dvd and a cd pot on it.

Thats what it looks like, either the pot, or a tuned flash? have you tried back to the original? also man, does your drive make noises when you put the disk in, like a clicking and spinning noise? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) hopefully you can get this worked out!!!

No it was the motor now I just need to find one or a broken drive i can buy?
