Alright on 9/22 my 360 bought on 2/22 dies. Three red lights. Error code 0102... MS wants $140 to fix their faulty machine. So if you're in Michigan (or any other state) and have this problem call the Michigan (or your state's) Attorney general maybe we can get a class action lawsuit/recall or an extended warrenty like the pre 1/1/06 models. Email me on here if you want. I'm tired of this. I want to be able to play my games again. I feel like I flushed a $1000 (console, games, and accessories) down the toilet.

Are you people retarded?

And about those "pre 1/1/06" models...MS takes those back for free now.  Too bad yours is from 2/22.  Buck up, hardware breaks.   Don't come in here with a "zOMG 360 is dead CLASS ACTION LOL!"   It's been tried before, and you'll probably get the same response I'm giving.

Damn dude what's your problem? Yeah MS takes the pre 1/1/06 models for free and it's shitty they don't do that for all of us post 1/1/06 360's that have the SAME problem. How do you think they got the pre 1/1/06 models repaired for free now? Enough people bitched about it.

I've owned consoles for the past 20 years and this is the first one I've ever had break. Also no other piece of electronics I have ever owned has broken within 7 months of purchasing it.

Preach on.  I've had all types of electronics over the last 2 decades and never has this happened to me either.  This is absolutely unacceptable.  Sure there are some that don't know how to take care of electronics.  I can assure you I am not one of those people.  I've bought $2000 tv's, $600 computers, and $1700 laptops.  Should I have bought the warranty for those?  Maybe, but I didn't need them as they continued working 5 years later.  If these systems had lasted at least a year it would be a totally different story.  Since they didn't, something is wrong, and MS won't say.  I'm going to find out from someone at the repair center as it's only 15 mins away.  Someone there has got to know a little more than we know now.

Sweet, I just talked to the Michigan Attorney General's office and they said it sounds like something they need to look into. So I filed a complaint with them online.

Dude, make a new thread, or revive an old one.  Don't do both.

Update:

I got my 360 fixed from MS for $70 (I still think they should've fixed it for free). I just got it back today. They gave me one made in 2005 so I'm sure the same shit will happen again. Though I plain on paying the extra $30 for the extended warranty. Anyway here's how I got it fixed for $70.

1st I filled a complaint with the BBB and the Michigan State Attorney General.

2nd I called MS direct at (425) 882-8080, not that 800-4MY-XBOX crap. I complained about my 360 and they gave me an email address of someone in MS that could help me. I don't have the email address ATM and I don't think I should give it out... after a few emails I was assured I would recieve a call back from someone higher up then the customer service people at 4MY-XBOX.

After a few days I get a call. I talk to the guy for a while about my situation and frustration. He offered to fix my console for $70.

That's it. I went with it because it's a lot better than $140. So I hope that helps some people.
