Freezing Problems
« on: September 18, 2006, 12:15:00 AM »

THis is now my THIRD 360 and the first two have frozen on me. this one worked just fine for about three weeks and is now dead. everytime i try and play a game, any game, it freezes literally about 3 minutes into it. Can it be something that Im doing wrong? ie not ventilating it enough, not having it set up right, etc? What can I do to fix this situation?

Is the 360 ventilated?  Is the power brick ventilated?

yea mine froze 2 times before and after the second time i came back an hour later and my power brick was hotter than it was supposed to be. I stuck it behind my fans that are running on 12v and it hasn't had any problems yet try to suspend your power brick in midair by strings or something ive heard this works or do what I did. Also get your 360 out of entertainment centers those things are hell holes for 360's

I feel your pain. I just received my 3rd Xbox back from the "repair center". Not even 20 minutes into playing Quake 4 it froze.
Kinda funny actually, they said they were going to send mea BRAND NEW system. Turns out they sent me another replacement system to "get back to enjoying my Xbox 360 quicker" yet again.

I'm actually fed up and I'm going to call and complain tomorrow because i've had enough.
I know how people mention to make sure everything is ventilated and that air is flowing through everywhere blah blah blah. Mine is very well ventilated and near an AC in fact plus I have those extra fans on the back of the system, but the fact is, none of the "replacement/refurbished" systems are any good (at least from my experience and apparently yours as well). I wonder how much "testing" actually goes into the "fixed" systems?

Let me know if you go back for round 4  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I received a refurbished system when I sent mine in.  It's been working ever since.

Remember, it's usually only the people with problems that say anything, so our view on the matter is skewed.  I sure as hell don't see four million posts about broken 360s on this board.

Try this if you don't have a fan to put on top of the GPU.
