M$ Sent Back My Xbox With This Letter
« on: September 15, 2006, 02:56:00 PM »

i fought and fought with M$ to repair my xbox, they will not repair it, only xchange it.  they told me that they do not fix them, BUT they give you a refurb, which means repaired, i fought and argued for 4 days with anyone i could talk to. They kept saying i modded it etc.. because i tried to fix it myself, instead of paying them another 157 can!!  ( idid get it going again but it overheats after 10minutes, trying to take the TIM off my GPU and put artic white on it!!
M$ has lost another customer....
i loved this machine when it worked!!

i had none , i got the system back on release date, in canada we only have a 90 day.
M$ told me that it has  limited war..( which means that you can not open the xbox even if you want to blow it out to clean it or to fix it,) the supervisor on shift read a part of the limited war that i didnt have, basicly told me its thier policy not to repair any console if it was open even if you pay for all costs.  The war.. policy i got says under the 90 days you cannot tamper with sticker!!

but i am testing my machine right now i think i got it fixed anyways so F *@K M$

You don't think it makes sense for them not to repair opened consoles?  YOU voided your warranty, if you've spent any time on this forum at allyou would know Microsoft won't even look at a console without the warranty sticker.  That's just their policy.  It's your fault they won't fix your console, so don't be mad at them.

Wait. They did what you wanted, out of warranty, and you're mad at them?

From my understanding of the original post, your warranty expired. MS wants to charge you $150+ for repairs but refuses because the box has been tampered with.

So in other words, MS will not repair an opened xbox console even if you pay the $150+.

Yep.  And "mrmoe" says that they read a "part of the limited warranty that he didn't have" (edited for readability).  I know of the part that the supervisor supposedly read; it's in the warranty booklet that comes with every 360.  It says that the warranty is good for 90 days, but only if you don't tamper with the sticker.  After the 90 days, if the 360 is unopened, you can pay the cost for them to fix it.  If it's tampered with, though, they have the right to refuse any service to you.

I think that mrmoe doesn't really understand the wording.

(I do know that, depending on who you talk to, when MS sends a refurb/replacement console back to you, it doesn't come with a sticker.  If you call them the day you get it and tell them that, they'll make a note of it in case you ever have to return it another time.  Again, this is ONLY on replacement ones they have sent to you.  That doesn't apply to this situation, but if anybody doesn't know, now they do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

Anyways, this topic is basically flamebait, but I feel obligated to clarify any misunderstandings, even if it is to a trollpost like the OP's.

Yes it is, I think it should be closed before the war starts.

Warranty Voided...No on on the scene can un-void your xbox 360 so basically theres nothing we can do for you.  Try the hot air method and see if it fix's your problem.
