Good product idea, my only concern (besides the power issue) is when the fans go bad and start whining, you can't just pull it off since all of your video/USB connections are on the same product, at least the intercooler is just another $20, or you could buy the exact fans and replace them of course...

Wow first third party product I have been truly impressed with.

Looks really cool.

I wonder how it gets power ?

By looking the picture closely I said it's from the USB Port.  This accessory has only 2 Fans instead of 3 like the Nyko Intercooler 360.

I like it better that way cause Nyko is prone to generate problems with that plastic plug of his and damage the console.

My Console overheated the power cable and power plug once and was showing simptoms of overheated GPU. I Removed the Intercooler and it NEVER showed any problems. It's been 4 months now and the console is a launch day unit, no 3RL ever.

Like all y'all, this looks to be a worthwhile addon.

While it might be pulling the 5 volts from the USB port, it could also be grabbing it from the A/V out port since there is a 5 volt line present there as well.

If I was them, thats how I would go about it.

At first glance it seems the device covers the whole back-side of the console. If so, it needs to provide a connector for the power supply cable. That black square just below the USB ports could be the power connector. However, after looking at it some more, I'm starting to think that device doesn't cover the power connector. The black square most likely is the ethernet port.

where's the power socket?

It's not clear in the picture but look closer at it. See that black square below the USB ports?  That's where the 360's power brick plugs in and passes power thru to the console. (Contrary to the previous post, it's not the Network port)  Power for the fans and USB ports are tapped from there.

The Cooler King does not actually cover the entire back of the Console.  It does not cover the original network port on the 360.

the fans on the back of the 360 blow out right?   i'm guessing that these blow inwards... that wouldn't make any sense.   unless they blow into the console in another spot

If these blow inward that would be retarded.  They definitely blow out considering on close inspection of the fans the labels are shown which mean that the air flow is OUT.

That definitely is *not* a power port. In the big picture you can actually see the golden wire bits that a network socket has. Plus it's way too small, as can be seen by its size in comparison to the USB ports.

When I first saw this I thought "Wow, I'm getting one" but after looking at it for a few I definately have some problems with the design. Who really wants to have a million small cables sticking out of the back of their 360 and then have to pull it out to get at the back and see how they need to flip switches to change what kind of signal output they want. In my opinion it should have only one switch to switch between high def. and standard def. and have VGA autodetect like the homebrew vga port I've seen on the forums somewhere or other. That, and if the speculation about the fans drawing power from the usb is true, that's retarded. I like the fact that it has a usb hub and all but if they have low power due to the fact that it's being drained by the fans then you can only do so much with them. Also, that's another mess of cables I don't want hanging out of the back when I go to switch video modes. I'd rather have an external usb hub that is easily accessable without reaching in the back of the console.

In my opinion it's a great concept, but it definately needs some work.
Not very user-friendly or wallet-friendly.

Those of you who say it has every video output is wrong, because it lacks euro RGB Scart which is the best picture quality you can get on a SDTV here in europe.

notice the RGB component plugs on it, get a scart socket that accepts components instead of composite and youl be laughing

scart is only as good as the signal its receiving.

Well said. Scart is just a cable and socket type, the signal can vary depending on what it is carrying.

Scart can carry composite, component, svideo (kinda), and audio (usualy 2 channel, but surround is possible).

Most of the time, scart is either carrying composite or their version of svideo though, and it being a european only standard (and the fact that the plug is huge) means that is a fair decision not to include it.

And... yet another accessory I have absolutely no interest in getting.

I would much rather buy a USB hub and a couple sets of cables. This is really not going to be all that great. And who knows what problems it could cause... everyone thought the intercooler was super awesome... until it started melting to 360s, drawing so much power the USB ports died, and people found out it voided their warranty.

Anyways, if people want this, more power to them... I just think it's a really horrible idea that will fail miserably.
