Problem With Inside Of Xbox...
« on: September 11, 2006, 11:02:00 PM »

ok i've had my xbox 360 for about 6 months now, and just the other day i started it up and it made this wierd sound when the fan started up inside the xbox, i turn it on and if it makes the same noise i turn it off and then back on, for about 3 days it has taken me 3 restartes to stop the noise, does anyone have any idea why it is doing this.  ( I have my xbox lying down always, and i have the external fan that hooks to the back of the system,)

sounds like a fan in the cooler or in the xbox is starting to fail. remove the cooler and see if you still hear the noise, if so, put your ear close to the fans on the back to see if thats the source of the noise.

Do you know what a bad fan bearing sounds like?  Is it kind of a "grinding" noise?
