I agree. The Scene posts too many rumors and inaccurate information and I find it rediculous. They should only post verufied accurate information. I really doubt the HDDVD drive will be that expensive and people should simply wait for MS to announce the price and stop the rumor spreading.

Engadget posted an article sometime back stating the price will be around $200.00. i don't know if it's accurate or not since only MS can verify.

reminds me of back in the day when i paid $299.99 for a sega CD...except id say sega cd is still cooler than the HD-DVD drive.

This is a major hit on HD-DVD seeing as how its ace in the whole is being more affordable. A $500 dollar ps3 has 20gb hard drive a built in blu-ray player that plays through component. Reminds me of an xbox 360 with HD-DVD except if you buy a premium system with an estimated $300 HD-DVD drive that amounts to $700 plus tax if you live in a state like California. I think that buying a $500 ps3 is just about as bad an idea as buying an xbox 360 with HD-DVD because both won't amount to crap once HDCP is implemented because they use component instead of HDMI. I like my 360 for games but movie wise I'd rather use my xbox 1 equiped with XBMC to upscale my movies. I'm saving for the PS3 $599 because it utilizes HDMI/HDCP and the more expensive Blu-ray technology and can display in true 1080p. If you have a 1080p TV it would be in your best interest to go with a ps3 or stand-alone player and I'd rather go with the extra game system for $200 bucks more.

heh, I too bought the Sega CD and 32X. I also purchased a 2x2x6 Acer CD-RW for $300.

If they were smart, definitely.

Think about it - a HD-DVD add-on for £99 which requires a 360 to run. This would be a master stroke.

Not only would they keep the current userbase happy, but entice those wanting to enter the HD market to pick up a 360 too.

If the price remains at £199, a lot of people will just sell their 360 and buy a PS3 - it really is that simple.

Yeah that great camera that is 40$ a regular webcam costs 20$. All accessories for the xbox1 and xbox 360 is overpriced as hell, since that is the only way for ms too make any money of their console.

well as usual us brits are gettin a royal fingering on the price, 75 quid more than the rest of the world, but i ask myself "will i buy one" the answer comes from the back of my mind "youre damn right you will" ive only managed to download one hd movie and i want more but all there is for download is crappy series like lost, desperate housewives etc so it looks like ill have to buy em (unless i get a better satellite reciever and watch the hacked german hd channels)

So if the pricing structure is based on what the premium PS3 will cost in the UK,
then the US price should and probably will cost a lot less.

Go to a goup of black people and call them niggas. Come back an tell us what happens.

You are also using a cartoon as your source. As you can see by your own comments, children should not play M rated games or see shows meant for a mature audience, otherwise, those kids will start repeating everything they see and think that there is nothing wrong with it. Use what you just said as an example of my point being proven.

But that is a little off topic. So to get back on topic, I would not buy an HD-DVD player for anything less than $200 USD. I never bought a DVD player for more than that price, and will never buy an HD-dvd player for more than that.

Better picture quality is always nice in movies, however, that quality is not worth $300 or even $250. Even more so when the movie format might not even make it.
