Xbox 360 Keeps Connecting To The Wrong Wireless Network
« on: September 06, 2006, 03:17:00 PM »

Recently i have started to see a problem with my XBox 360 wireless connection. Instead of picking up my own Router it tries to connect to one of my neighbours networks. I have a Linksys WRT54G Router and a Linksys WGA54G Wireless adapter plugged into the XBox. I'm on channel 2 and everyone else is on Channels 6 and 11. I also have 3No PC's on the network and they all pick up the router without any problems. The connection works fine when you edit it in the Systems menu but when the XBox is rebooted it drops it again. I have recenlty had a replacement XBos after the 3 Red lights of death and this is the same. Anyone have any ideas on this?

It's been a while since I had this problem, but it seems like I had to take the WGA54G to my PC, connect it via RJ45 cable and set it up with wireless encryption to match my own router. I forget the details, but I am sure Linksys can help you configure it.

I also, hacked into the the wireless router it was connecting to. ( using a browser and the default IP address and admin account that linksys comes with) I got the Email Address of the owner, and sent an email telling him that he should encrypt his router. And if he doesn't somebody maybe not so nice, will take adantage.

Hope this helps
