New Xbox360 Error Number...
« on: September 06, 2006, 01:04:00 PM »

A friend of mine owns a x360 since december, and it was playing just fine till yesterday when appears the dreaded 3 red rings...  We opened the box and put a new thermal component inside the gpu and cpu, closed the box and it worked again... for three hours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)   Now even in a cold state it doesn't work again, I checked the error code....1200, but its not yet explained in the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  Anyone here heard of this kind of error? pls help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Should not have opened it. Its better to just take the $130 up the ass (if your warrenty is out) then have to pay for a new box just becuase you though one of the fixes would work.

Where can you get new thermal components?

He means the TIM, thermal interface compound... the "goop" that goes between a heatsink and chip to help transfer heat.
The good stuff is called Arctic Silver 5, check Newegg.com.  You can get it pretty much anywhere online.
