« on: September 05, 2006, 10:57:00 AM »

One of my buddies spilled some sweet n sour sauce on the abxy buttons on the 360 controller and now they are sticky, if i go buy the t8 security bit and open this up is it possible to even clean the buttons? they return to their spot just very slowly. any help appreciated

lol! Yes they canbe cleaned. Just remove the buttons and the rubber pads and washe them with water or use a damp rag. Hot water wont hurt them. Just dont put water on the pcb. If thats sticky then gently wipe it with rubbing alcohol. Remember always use alcohol to clean any PCBs.

dont do it before confirming, but you can clean electronic components using a type of alcohol that wont hurt the PCB, meaning you could wipe down the controller without damage

pheww... finally, frys had  a 5 pack of the torx securidrivers for like 6 bucks, of course the controller went into 37 peices when i opened it up but luckily the sauce was only where the buttons sit in their "tubes". used a q-tip and some mildy soapy water, cleaned it right up no prob.   thanks guys!   now for payback... hmmmm   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
