Is There A Problem In Changing The Drive?
« on: August 21, 2006, 07:33:00 AM »

I had a problem with mu DVD drive and looking for a new one. My original drive is a samsung. I would like to know if it is okay to change a samsung for a Hitachi. Is there any possible incompatibility problem??
To change to a hitachi I know I have to have my original drive's key to upload it in the hitachi but what about the samsung?? Is is necessary too??

Thx...hope you can help me!

yes you would need the key for a samsung too, as that key allows your dvd drive to work with your mobo, which verifies the key.

You you dont have the key than it will simply not work at all.I suggest asking the seller who you bought it from has the key as least.
