Controller Will Turn 360 On, But Not Connect
« on: August 10, 2006, 06:45:00 PM »

Hey, two days ago I bought a second wireless controller, but when I try to turn the 360 on with either controller, it will start up the 360, but neither will connect, I must wait about 30 seconds from when it finally logs me into xbl and such, THEN I can hold the guide button and it will connect.

360's fault or controllers fault?

When I do that, the console will do the swirly thing, and same with controller, but once they both flash 4 lights, the 360 disconnects from controller, but controller keeps flashing.. I must wait about 30 secs after the 360 is done loading (Dash, theme, login to xbl, etc.) then it will finally connect, as seen in the video.

Wow that takes forever, and your first pad is perfectly fine? Also your 360 seems to take ages to turn on after your pad turns on. Well the center led comes on at the right time, but the RoL takes forever to start. The only thing i can think of is interferance (spelling..) but if your first pad is fine then i have no idea.

I think I have posted this 100 times in a week now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

It means your xbox is most likely about to die. I had the same problem and MS keep sending me new controllers but they would never connect. The my box started giving the 3 red lights and I am now paying $130 to fix a stupid problem that we should have a 2 year warnty on.

It is not likley about to die if this happened the exact day and time I connected my second new controller.

And BTW, the 360 starts up exactly like my friends 360, it's just that the monitor degauss' when ever it gets a new signal.

And both pads do this.

LOL, nevermind the above, I decided to check if it decided to work, and I guess after having the 360 unplugged for a couple hours fixed it..

Although there is that delay when it starts up, it has always been like that since I got it.
