Do you have a Samsung drive or Hitachi drive?

I know is it possible to recover the Samsung without needing to take apart the drive. But if you figured out a way to do the same with the Hitachi drive, please inform us all how you did it. Every thread I read so far says you have to desoder the PCB from the ODD board. Share the knowledge!   happy.gif

I'm looking forward for this open-source project. I'm learning pic programming at the moment, so if this mod is going to use a pic, it's going to be fun  cool.gif
