what is c4r68, r5r1, and r7v5? I found the capacitor that would go in c4r68 but may have lost the resistor. Is there anything I can replace them with from like radio shack. Are they needed. And would they cause an RROD. Not sure if there should be something on r7v5.

I got the RROD the other day. I used new thermal paste on the heat sinks and on the four spongy things on the underside. Still get RROD. Think I need those two parts back but not sure if they are the cause.

Previously had just placed the paste on the spongy pads and it worked for about a day and then went bad on me.

Advice and help greatly appreciated.

R5R1 - 1k
R7V5 - 10ohm

Both of those are needed.

C4R68 is a DeCoupling Capacitor, and while it's not really needed it can be replaced if you like, but you're best off to get one from another 360 so the value is correct, as it could be anything from 0.01uf to 10uf.

Anyone know the specifications for the eject button/sync button tactile switches?

It's a Right Angle Tact switch, 6mm x 6mm x 5.85mm.

C5D6 - anyone know what it is? I got a 360 in for repair and it appears to have exploded or been removed from the board. i can't find a picture of any other 360 that is missing that particular cap.

It's a DeCoupling Capacitor. Missing it's not going to cause any issues, just make sure the leftovers of it aren't causing a short between the pads. If you want to replace it get one from another 360 board so you know it's the same value, but it's not going too cause any problems if it's gone.

Hey, I was wondering what the resistor value of C9P2 is? Its on the bottom on the board, somewhat close to the power supply connector. It would be greatly appreciated.

can you give me the value of C3N4 please. I broke it off trying to remove the x clamps. Its next to Q2N2 about 35mm from the av connector. the board is a xenon board manufactured about 2005.

The Resistor value is nill, since it's a Capacitor. wink.gif You'll need to get one from another 360 board so it's the correct value. You can also use C9T1 or C9U1 from the donor board as a replacement if C9U2 is also missing from it.

C3N4 is a filter Cap and shouldn't need replacing unless it's causing an issue. If it is causing some issue the best thing to do is get one from another 360 board so it's the correct value, as it could be anything from 10pF to 10mF, no way to tell without looking at a datasheet or measuring a known good one from another board.

Q2N1 is marked t2A, which is a 2N3906. In that SMD SOT23 package the replacement would be a MMBT3906.

C6R47 has fallen off my board, and it doesn't look like I'd be able to resolder where it was.  Any way of repairing this, maybe using the top of the board?

thanks in advance

C6R47 is a DeCoupling Capacitor and it will be fine with it missing.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try removing the old thermal compound and applying new, it RRoD's for about a second then it does 2 red lights

Ive got a falcon board with a capacitor missing on the bottom. It looks like the previous owner knocked it off while removing the x-clamps.
C6U2

thanks

C6U2 is just a DeCoupling Capacitor and it will be fine with it missing.

Help! I accidentally knocked off the capacitor C8U9 while removing the x-clamp. Since then, I've had RROD with error code 0022.

Is this a required component? The cap is extremely small, like micro-scale; how do you even solder one of these things?

I desperately need to know the value of R3B15 (next to the HANA chip). Resistor? Value?

Thanks!

I can answer my own question. R3B15 = 33 Ohm 5% (same for ANA) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
