Please note that this version of the device currently only supports Hitachi-LG Optical Disc Drives

That is the IMPORTANT bit. Currently!! The device they were planning on using is so unbelievably flexible they can do ANYTHING they want with just a change of software/firmware.

Expect software updates shortly afterwards to support other makes of ODD.

" Portable
X360 USB does not require the XBOX to be powered while in use. You can detach the Xbox 360 HDD & DVD and connect directly to your USB port (DVD Powered by Xecuter 360 Connectivity Kit). The X360 USB is the first and only device in the world that converts both the Xbox 360 HDD & DVD to USB
"

What does it mean when they say DVD powered by Xecuter360 CK, does it mean we need to buy both the products to be able to successfully flash the Drive?
Thanks for any replies regarding this,
kashman.

The USB interface is just a data interface and does not provide power.

You can power the drive using the XBOX360. You then just have to have it near your computer while you perform the flashing.

I personally would have liked to see them combine the Xecuter360 CK AND this product into one single product.

I understand why TX have chosen not to. It did not make commercial sense nor add any functionality but it would have made for an more aesthetically pleasing product smile.gif

Hello, I have searched around and still haven't found a clear answer. Can I just detach my Xbox 360 HDD and attach it to the X360 USB (and then to the PC)?

Or will I need to open the 360 HDD case and get direct access to the 360 HDD?

Thanks for any information.

unless they provide an adapter for the 360 hdd connector, then yes you'll need to open the hdd up to get direct access to the sata connector.

Thanks for the reply.

So it sounds like if I don't want to crack open the XBOX 360 HDD case, I should get Xecuter's earlier connector, the HDD to SATA connector?

Thanks,

Tethra
