Questions About Firmware/mod Chips
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:54:00 PM »

hey guys, I have a few questions im hoping some of you can answer

Ive been searching this forum for a few hours but there are a few things i am unclear of..

The firmware hacks.. they dont require any mod chipping? I just need a computer with a SATA connecter right? ---  my comps are IDE so ill probably have to buy a PCI card for that.

Also, they are reversable right? if I want to play Orig discs on live i can restore the orig FW, and possibly get a stealthing mod chip, correct?

Now, ive heard conflicting things about backups.. do they require patching? if so, is it different for each game or just a certain part that is the same in each one?  Also, ive heard of xbox 360 xtreme backups.. Is that anything?

I imagine later its possible M$ will catch on and require all of the discs to have a separate patch if thats not the case now.

I have the Samsung drive, Im thinking about doin the FW thing.. then maybe later once more reliable chips are out going all out and modding it

i think that covers it sorry if this info is elsewhere i really looked, and thanks to anyone who can help

I'm not current with the firmware mod... but I'll answer what I can.

They need a computer with SATA.  They are reversable.  There are some dual-firmware chips as well as a "patch the firmware on the fly" chip from Team Underdog (NME-360).  That only patches the firmware when using a backup.
