This is one of those things to keep around even when not doing stuff to the 360. Nifty it's like unofficial eSATA.

Oh hell yeah.....$10 bucks isn't anything.  I'm definately getting the SATA version.  Gives me a reason to use that extra slot on my mobo now.

I'll probably get one of those SATA ones if I ever get a 360.

ya that adapter for the USB is all over the place, its like $25.00, it allows you to plug both sata, IDE 2.5 and IDE 3.5 into your USB and comes with the large power block.

the grey thing is the adapter (instead of using the connectivity kit) this is a different connector that will allow you to plug in power and SATA cable into the xbox360 drive.

I have been using and selling to PC repair people that USB adapter for a long time.  it works great.

the USB version is not complicated. (been using that item for over 6 months).
take xbox360 HDD off unit.
plug the grey item into the xbox360 HDD connector
on the end of the grey item will be a power connector and a sata port.
plug the power connector into (and into the larger black item (12v+5v+GND power)
then plug the sata cable to the end of the grey item and then to the smaller black item (SATA, IDE 2.5 and IDE 3.5 connector).
then plug the large black item (into the wall for power)
then plug the silver USB Cable connected to that smaller black item into your USB port.

and you will then have access to that XBOX360 HDD via windows XP using xplorer360.

works great.

Why do people need more space? I don't see enough stuff on xbl marketplace worth having to need more space. Until homebrew is possible for the 360, I'll be happy with my current hdd.

yeah, i agree
its not like gamesaves are that big,
and why the hell do you need to keep demo videos, once youve seen it
id rather play games than watch trailers, i only need more hdd space for homebrew

Shame it has no external power connector. How dumb of ASUS was that, of course if you know something different let me know - but the A8N SLI Deluxe had such a connector but not the A8N32!

As for the product - why can't someone just release one adapter thats powered through USB and i can connect the hard drive/DVD to the PC trough USB and/or SATA? Through one simple device, that a child could use without exposed PCB!

PS I have the same mobo

I bought a modchip for my xbox from Divineo.com, so they send me newsletters.  In the most recent (today) it listed this product as "MiniSpy USB Hard Drive Adapter for Xbox+Xbox 360"  I wonder if this is correct, because they also have this: "MiniSpy SATA Hard Drive Adapter for Xbox 360"

That states that the SATA thing is only for 360.

I can't find anything that says this works with XBOX, all the links point to 360.  Does the USB thing in fact work with XBOX or are the people at Divineo lying?

Talismoon's website says this:

"You will be ready to enjoy greater storage capacity in seconds.
The MiniSpy USB is for customers who want USB ease of use and also want to access data from either Original Xbox or Xbox 360 hard drives."

So does it interface with XBOX hard drives?  I need someone who has used it and can confirm

THanks!!!
