Am I Screwed?

My DVD laser burned out a while ago. I couldn't figure it out so I tried everything I could, including flashing the drive. I just installed the new laser and now it reads ok. But the key isn't right so I can't play games. I lost everything on my drive containing the backup. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed?
