Xsata Problem Found
« on: June 29, 2006, 04:08:00 PM »

For those considering XSATA....I might hold off a bit, as there may still be bugs.
For those of you who have an XSATA for your 360, can you please confirm this?

I just received my XSATA last night and hooked it all up. It works fine and I was able to backup the 360 and transfer some files. There is a big problem with it though. There are several backwards compatible games the either freeze or won't load at all when the XSATA is connected to the 360. Doom 3 and Ghost Recon freeze and Rallisport Challenge won't load at all. These were just a handful that I tried. I suppose that I would find even more problems if I tested all my games. Anyway, after I unhook the XSATA and connect the hard drive directly to the 360, these games work fine. I wonder if just my XSATA is defective or if they all have problems.

Well mine won't even let me download off of marketplace, so consider yourself lucky. I'm trying one more time, and if it doesn't work, I'm getting my money back at Best Buy.

hmm sounds like it still has major bugs. I wonder if such device can be used to upload NCAA roster files to the new upcoming ncaa football 2007? Probably be better to use a different device instead of this one if it exists.

Yep, and they don't even respond to customer service emails. I'm done trying to 'rig' this thing to work. Monday I'm going back to Best Buy and getting my 49.99 back.

And Datel will NEVER get another dime from me again. I opened this up and had to ask myself "Did I just get a mod kit"?

Crappy part, not suprised it doesn't work.

guys are you trying to do all these things with the usb wire connected to the 360 and the pc? this maybe your only problem. im getting mine in the next few days so i really cant offer any advice but i only ask this because maybe the usb is powering the xsata and interfering with the 360's functions and just unplugging the usb should solve all your problems without havingto totally remove the xsata from the top of your system each time. it was made to stay on there and made so that you wouldnt have to remove your drive everytime you want to eidt something on your hdd but nowhere have i ever heard or read anything about it should be left connected to your pc when no in use.

No, I don't have the usb cord connected. With the xSATA connected, I can access what's already on my harddrive, but cannot download anything new onto it.

Which IMO equate this product to a POS.

I was having problems until I unplugged the USB cord from the XSATA.

Though I do like this, because of it I was able to put my Hacked DOA3 skins on the harddrive.
