Wireless Conundrum...
« on: June 24, 2006, 09:51:00 PM »

Ok,
I know theres plenty of people out there that have hooked up in some way, shape or form, a wireless connection to an xbox 360 that is NOT MS. I've purchased a Linksys wireless-g USB network adaptor and the wireless network router 2.4 Ghz from Linksys as well. The Router works fine, but the USB adaptor does not recognize any network (and there are plenty around my building) around me.
I just wanted to know if anyone had tried the same thing, and if you its working for you. I read a few post and it seems that some people have the USB adapter working.
Comments, suggestions, ideas and hacks welcome.
Thanks.

let me try and clarify what your doing, your using a USB based Wireless Bridge? probably won't work i have used the old XBOX MN-740 ethernet Bridge for a while, but it started to overheat and crap out so i just bought the MS one, as that way it would only be on when i need it and i can just leave it on there

No USB wireless adapter will work, exept for MS's.

On the other hand though, any wireless adapter that plugs into the ethernet port will work fine. They may need to be hooked up to a computer and configured beforehand though.

Datel also sells one as well.  (not sure if its ethernet or USB)
Its the Wireless MAX for the 360  -  the Wireless MAX's for the PSP and the DS are not the same.  (The 360 is a Wireless bridge, the others are access points)

But no generic USB wireless adapter will work on the 360.
