Broken Trace On Hitachi Drive
« on: June 15, 2006, 07:38:00 PM »

I was getting ready to flash my Hitachi drive with C4E's new firmware. For some reason the eject button woudln't work at all. I coudln't get the drive open.

I opened the drive and found something unpleasent. I don't have much experience with fixing this kind of thing, but someone tell me that it is fixable. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

xboxexpert,
You have any idea how to test if the chip is fried? Or is it kind of a trial/error type thing after the trace is rebuilt?

How much would you charge for this type of job? And how on earth do u get the solder to stick, flux?

Could someone post a picture of the same board I posted, without the broken trace? It's a hitachi47.
