Transfer Files From Xbox360 Hdd To Computer Hdd
« on: April 18, 2006, 02:31:00 PM »

OK, so im about to sell my Xbox360 R/C car mod on ebay

But i dont want to have to go out and buy a Memory Card just to save my gamesaves until i get a new 360. So besides using a mem card or another 360 hdd, is there a way to hook my 360 hdd up to my computer and transfer everything off of it, so when i get a new hdd, i can transfer everything onto the new one?

Thanks

Well couldnt i just use a Sata cable and power connector and hook the hdd up to my computer like a normal SATA hdd?

If i do that, can i just copy everything off of the hdd, store it on my computer until i get a new one, then upload it to my new hdd the same way?

Yes you can, but I think that it can corrupt a part of your 360's HDD (correct me if i'm wrong).

if you do a backup using xplorer360, that will be fine as long as your manually extract and copy the files from the image to the new HDD.  DO NOT DO A RESTORE AS THIS WILL RUIN YOUR NEW HDD....  Take that from my experience.

So i download xplorer360, hook up my exsisting 360HDD, copy all of the files onto my computer hdd, and then when i get a new 360HDD i manually copy them back onto the new hdd?
Sounds easy enough

One other question, what all can i extract off the 360HDD (ie, game saves only, or personal settings/music playlists, etc)?
