Holy smokes thats too good to be true. And the price is fine imo seeing as the other guys charge 10+ bucks for a piece of PCB that can fry your HD if plugged the wrong way around. This after all contains a SATA to USB converter aswell for all those people who have computers from the past millennium. And hey I'll take quick USB over opening my case to get the SATA plug anyday.

Too bad I cant really think of a good use for it yet, but all I need is the excuse to get one.

And good USB enclosures just for your regular 3.5" HDD cost between 30 to 50 bucks and more.

I give Datel a congrats on trying to make the moding scene more main stream. They are trying to say ...."you don't need to take aprat you expensive stuff to do what the cool modders do" or something like that....

Holy Shit those are awesome. One concern I have is certain things as precious as xbox1 game cache as well as any 360 game using cache and the 'live service' will be affected greatly due to the 360 and us having read/write access (even during game execution). One could simply modify halo 2 maps residing in the 'uneditable' cache. This means old map modding on live as well as editing how matchmaking works altogether (the gametypes for matchmaking get stored in cache when u sign in). Very bad idea for the 360 and us to both have access at the same time. smile.gif

Otherwise, looks awesome and they even give us some advertising on the box. wink.gif

very cool product, Not sure if I'd leave it plugged into my 360 like that, but I like the plug and play-ability of just docking your HDD next to your PC through USB...

I don't need one right now (just got the transfer kit and I haven't even started diving into the cool stuff I can do with just a memory card) but it's nice to know a viable option is open for when I decide to start getting into HDD stuff.

price tag isn't that bad when you consider for me to use one of the cheaper adapters I would also have to pick up a SATA card AND leave my computer open...

USB is nice and clean

I like it beerchug.gif

It's only expensive to the computer literate. I am just surprised that they are relying on non-affiliated, completely un-related software for their product to be useful.

Some of the guys that work for Datel are also some of the scenes best hackers

Dope!

I'm starting to run pretty low on HD space.
I'm the type that likes to keep as many demos as I can in my X360.
I like showing off my X360 when ever I have company, and demos are the best way of doing that because you can easily play them from the Hdd.

So for that alone, I might just buy this thing.
I suppose you can also transfer your MP3's?
Not sure about videos but it would be very cool if I could upload my own videos this way.

Anyways, I'm fine with just backing up demos for now.
I do have a concern though, I wonder if you can pull the plug off this thing.
I have enough wires dangling from the back of my Xbox 360 already, I don't need more.
Another thing, why a blue light?
Why not green to match the rest of the console?
Doesn't make much sense to me sleep.gif

Just ordered one.
Just noticed that if you buy one in Euros it a lot cheaper than in UK Pounds.  It could just be the drink thats making it look like that way though

Excellent idea. I just wish it was the same green as the power LED's to match the console a little better. >_>

Means that they only have to do hardware support, no software support. Yea feck up your 360s HDD with software thats not theirs, your fault

I must say that the design looks great. I dont care for the blue color IMAO. But they did a great job.

The only issue I have with it is how safe is it going to be for the 360 and the PC to access the HD at the same time. Do they have a device that detects when the 360 is accessing the HD and then deines the PC access?

But overall , I like the design and the idea. It was only a metter of time before a dock came out. I have a design I am working on to.

It's not expensive at all if you buy one of the current homebrew types There around $20 and if you add a usb converter to it, it's around another $40 so your lookin at $60 or more for current soultion to be plug and play like this.

Second thing is can this be used without being connected to the 360? if it can't be the other spolutions are better in that way I can connect a usb cable to my 360 from my pc. (to far) and im not going to disconnect my whole 360 to move it to my pc.

Has anyone seen this in local retail shops yet? (ie Best buy)
