Datel must be watching Xbox-scene. tongue.gif When that 360 Memory Card Save Transfer Program came out they built that memory card transfer USB thingy, now when we have news posts about easy HD connecting to PC, they release an even easier form of doing so.

I <3 Datel.

The trailers are stored in a PIRS archive within /partition3/content/000000000000000/. Extract them with Xplorer360 and then extract the hdwmv file from the PIRS file with wxPirs.
Wireless USB?

Anything special that needs to be done with the extracted wmvhd files once extracted with wxPirs?

Does this location also contain the "Videos" that came with the original HDD?

I may have to order this thing sooner than later.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pop.gif)

Yup even those stock videos are there too. And no, nothing special once extracted.

quick question

Would this hook up to a already enclosed, plug and play external (possibly networkable) hard drive.

example:

1. buy this, hook it up
2. go to best buy, buy a 200 gb usb 2.0 hard drive that is networkable (either via wireless or wired)
3. transfer files like demos and stuff from the factory xbox360 hard drive to the networkable hard drive, and then view the files on that hard drive from another computer.

i think this would be the most convienent way of transfering files, using a stand-a-lone usb hard drive...i just need to know if anyone has tried this or can confirm that this would work..

WOW I was seriously not expecting to see this before logging off the pc for the night! Always plugged in, adds custom looks to the console, usb supported, its exactly what I want  tongue.gif

My 360 shares the 19" widescreen lcd i use for my tv and pc, so my 360 is only about a foot away from my pc, perfect tool for saving data to pc.

Thanks Datel, will have to get one once I get some money on the 18th.

I cant see MS banning it, i dont see how they could it is just a pass thru device that is split off to a usb connection there is no software layer to be detected or banned. it's like putting a splitter on a cable tv line, the cable company cant detect a splitter...

Second of all we don't know if the unit can or cannot be used as a docking base, most likely it may not get enuff power from the usb, but would be very easy to make you own docking station for it as it would have an identical plug on the bottom of it as the 360 HDD and would only need power applied.
Datel or someone could just make a addon base with a 12v ac adapter. If you already have the 360sata adapter it would be very easy to make a docking station yourself. mount the datel kit to a box structure, tall enuff to house the 360sata kit and take a pc molex plug and cut it and add a ac to dc adapter, don't worry about the 360 sata data connector use the datel usb one.

if i understand you correctly - then yes, it would work - it would be no different than putting a 200gb HDD in your computer as a second HDD and copying everything to that as USB HDD's show up just like any other drive. or even copying the files to your current HDD - but it seems like you have space issues.

I'm not to clear on what you mean by networked - a USB drive connected to your computer would not need to be connected as a Network Storage Device on your LAN - unless you wanted it to be availible to multiple computers (the 360 would not see it though).  i think thats what you mean.

so, yes - it would work because USB drives show up and work as normal drives - just a bit slower.

you can also put other things on the USB drive as well - it doesnt have to be just for xbox backups.  i have a 120gb external HDD and i put all my downloads and torrents there, etc. as well as my xbox (xbox 1) backups and other stuff...

Just ordered one.
Just noticed that if you buy one in Euros it a lot cheaper than in UK Pounds.  It could just be the drink thats making it look like that way though

Me Too !!!

Changed the drop-down to Euro's and it works out at about £15/16 - cheers for the heads up just saved me nearly half price.

Checked with my credit card and they've only charged the euro rate so it looks like it's a done deal  pop.gif

Just one other thing - Does anyone know if it will be possible to transfer music via the xsata ?

I probly only noticed this cos im broke atm but in the usa its $40.00 which is £22.96 yet people in the UK have to pay £30 for this...

Don't they have to add local tax though?

I called and tried to cancel my first order (in £) and was told by the sexy voiced girl to call back on Monday morning.

I've placed another order for 2 of them, paying in € (total inc recorded delivery - £34.60)

Around £17 for buying it in euro? wow if that works for uk residents thats great  laugh.gif

I just thought, if the 360 needs to be on to access the hdd can't it be damaging to move and change some files while the 360 is reading it?

The Euro pricing is quite clearly a mistake, when compared to the $ and £ prices, I'd expect the euro price is supposed to be 40 too, though I've just got email from datel to say the order is completed, so looks like they're honouring it, and indeed havent caught it yet, if anyones going for it, I'd say do it now.
