Still nothing.  dry.gif

Play.com has the release date as "availability: Due for release on 30/06/2006"

I hate datel, lawsuit for false advertisement,  biggrin.gif , jk I won't sue for something that small......

maybe if I fall down the stairs when my package comes on the 30th  dry.gif

"but... I wasn't expecting it to come two months late, it caught me off gaurd"  biggrin.gif

Yeah that would go over well in court.

I got my Xsata today!!! two months after ordering it

I must admit i was initially surprised at how cheap it looked and felt but after fitting it in it is well designed and looks ok. I've not used it yet but I will a bit later after the football.

by the way I ordered this the day after it was announced on the 8th of april, I also only paid 23 euros as it was a glitch in the system at the time, it's now £39.99
it also comes packaged with a cd that has xplorere 360 on it, i didn't know they had an affil with them. but from the manual it wouldseem they do, it's worded that way.

I have taken some detailed pics of the item but have no way of uploading them to the net to show people, can anyone help?
It looks quite basic to be honest. from the pre release shots it looks like a solid unit but upon receiving it, it is more like a hollow shell. You can see and touch all the circuit boards, it has two sata cables and one cable from the usb port on the main circuit board, also has a flimsy lead to connect to the hdd port on the 360 that you have to push in yourself. it's a weird little thing but it works well

Build quality : 7

Useability : 9

overall : 8

This thing is a real bugger to remove, unlike the hdd it has no clip to press, yu have to nearly break the thing to get it out, be aware.

got mine yesterday, i too ordered the day it was announced, but not played as i took my daughter to the seaside for the first time yesterday so the 360 took a backseat biggrin.gif

just opened the box, and i have to say build quality is pants
i reckon if you're a bit hamfisted you could damage either the HD or the 360's HD slot
took me a good 10mins to marry it up properly, but once connected it works fine, which i guess makes up for its shoddy workmanship
once on, i'd leave it in place tho, as i think repeated removal/attachment could make it worse

having said all that, it does exactly what it says on the tin, so its time to poke about on my HD biggrin.gif

PS. the lovely blue glow on the advertising pics does not happen, coupla little LEDs on the back end set to glow thru a serrated plastic piece that runs down the side, the effect being you get light at the back & a bit at the front, so i think i'll replace those with green ones to fit in with my standard 360 (surface mounts are toooooo small for my old eyes to replace on the 360 itself)

Can anybody get the HARD DRIVE to be detected by the X360 Dashboard when the thing is plugged-in to the PC?  I have to unplug the USB cable in order for the dashboard to detect my HDD... weird?

Anybody else with this?

if you read the instructions it tells you in there that the xbox 360 wont see the hard drive while the usb is connected and also connected to the pc, you need to remove the usb cable and restart the xbox 360 for it to see the hard drive again

Darn... I wondered if this thing could've been used to inject cache files while playing online in order to, well, hack the 'box   cool.gif .  Guess not  blink.gif

unfortunatly, harddrives cannot be connected to 2 things at the same time.  A device can be made so the HDD can connect to the device and the device will connect to multiple sources (like a HDD on a Network) but due to the 360's security, we cant do that (...at least yet.)

man, i cant wait for it to show up at my local bestbuy...  (why pay for shipping, when i live almost next to a Bestbuy?)

Anymore Pictures?  or bigger pics?
