Intercooler Thought......

concerning the Nyko intercooler, since it already goes on the back rite behind the stock fan, wat would happen if u took the stock out? could that increase air flow? i kno that having 2 fans sounds better, but maybe the stock fan "blocks" the real power of the intercooler..... i was just thinking.... My thoughts on the stock 360 cooling and the Intercooler:

The 360 is not what I call a "balanced ventilation" system, meaning there is only one fan, not one intake and one exhaust, each pushing the same CFM. The 360 has only an exhaust fan and relies on negative air pressure inside the chassis for intake. I can only assume that adding extra exhaust fans (ala the Intercooler) would increase the negative air pressure and therefore increase circulation.

I plan on picking up an Intercooler at my local Gamestop this afternoon, extra ventilation can't hurt any. Most of the people poo-poo'ing the Intercooler are 360 haters that look for any excuse to bash MS.

well if you were already going to get inside of the 360 to remove the fans to use the Intercooler then, you wouldn't need the intercooler.  Just do the 12v fan mod to the original fans by tying into the 12v source for the DVD drive it only takes like 15 minutes once inside the 360.  Best of all its FREE!! lol
but if you don't want to void warranty...Nyko probably is the way to go.

it would have made more sense if one fan was for intake, and the other exhaust.
