Dead Mobo?
« on: March 24, 2006, 07:38:00 PM »

I got a 360 motherboard and dvd drive combo, it worked fine.  I took apart the system and now as soon as i plug it in, it gives 3 flashing red lights.  I normally thought this was from overheating or power supply problems.  Any suggestions on a possible fix or should i just chalk this board?  I was gonna use it for  a custom project.

depends is the psu modded?
i took apart my psu and switched the led on it when my system when in for repair and when i got the system back and hooked it up i got the 3 lights, i just roughed the psu up a little bit and it started working(possibly that bottom metal piece that's grounded in 2 spots or one of the solder points for the leds got crossed(just a few things that you might want to check out)

Well I haven't opened my system yet, so I'm not sure what problems it will have, I wish I could be of more help, if you do decide to get rid of it I would more than happy to pay shipping plus a little extra.  Let me know.
